Description

Pembrey is key player in Welsh Motorsport. Originally an RAF base, a joint effort between Llanelli Borough Council and the WRDA led to the creation of the circuit we know today. Ever since the first competitive event in 1989 the venue has had a busy calendar. Today Pembrey features a range of competitive Truck, Car and Bike racing, all visiting the circuit throughout the year.

In 2017 work was undertaken to add an extension, which now allows for more than one layout to be used for any given event.

One of the features of the new circuit layout is a heavy braking section, that is followed by high-speed right-hand corners. The current Pembrey circuit layout is offers a mixture of high, medium and low speed corners, with two long straights after Brooklands Hairpin and Honda Curve. Both corners are very important for carrying speed onto the straights.

There is plenty of paddock space to set up and the addition of pit garages, making it a great place to test and develop racing cars.

The circuit holds the following large events:

  • British Touring Car Championship
  • British Superbike Championship
  • Britcar
  • British GT Championship
