The AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship stands as an exclusive single-make tin-top racing series dedicated to the iconic Ford Fiesta. A beloved fixture in British motorsport for over three decades, the championship pays homage to the UK’s best-selling small car of all time. Officially supporting the TCR UK Touring Car Championship, this series serves as an ideal stepping stone for drivers venturing into top tiers of tin-top Motorsport.
This championship operates within a single, one-make class structure, featuring the Mk7 Ford Fiesta ST180 transformed into the ST240, boasting 240bhp. Branded as the “Fiesta ST240,” these cars are equipped with dedicated AST Suspension, Goodyear slick and wet tires, and EBC Brakes, alongside mandatory components for all participating vehicles. Introduced in 2020 as an invitation class, the ST240 cars earned official championship status in 2021.
The AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship serves as a premier platform for drivers aspiring to advance to major national series like the BTCC, TCR UK, or the British GT Championship. It has been a stepping stone for young talents, exemplified by 2022 champion Jenson Brickley, who ascended just a year after winning the Fiesta Junior Championship. Open to drivers of all ages and experience levels, the championship promotes fair competition, emphasizing driving skill and car set-up abilities as key success factors.
This championship boasts a rich history of nurturing racing stars in the touring car world, with legends like Ash Sutton, Matt Neal, Steve Soper, Gordon Shedden, and Colin Turkington honing their skills behind the wheel of a Fiesta. Beyond the intense on-track competition, the series fosters a vibrant paddock atmosphere with regular social events throughout the season, providing teams, drivers, families, and sponsors an opportunity to connect, forge friendships, and enjoy camaraderie amid the competitive spirit.
Featuring a dual-class structure, the Fiesta ST240 Championship accommodates both “Pro” and “Club” categories, catering to both ambitious career-focused drivers and those racing purely for enjoyment. At the season’s end, overall, Pro, and Club class champions will be crowned, along with the Masters Trophy, awarded to the competitor aged 45 and over with the highest overall points. Join us for an exhilarating season of thrilling racing, camaraderie, and the pursuit of victory!
