The Armed Forces Race Challenge (AFRC) has been developed to bring together four-wheeled motor racers from all across the Armed Forces. The challenge allows a level playing field of competition irrespective of car performance by awarding consistency during races, so the focus remains on the driver rather than the machinery.

The series aims to bring together as many Armed Forces competitors at the same race meeting, and as many as possible on the same grid. The races are around 40 minutes ( 2x 18min + 1 lap rounds), a one-minute pit stop is compulsory to allow a change of drivers (if required). One unique aspect of the championship is that two competitors can also share the race using two cars in relay format.
AFRC does not restrict competitors to attending the core events, once registered a competitor may compete anywhere and submit their results sheet for inclusion into the results (this is penalised slightly to encourage AFRC support).

The unique points scoring system ensures that any driver from any group is in contention to become overall champion. Points are awarded for each round (8 in total) with the best 6 rounds counting towards the overall championship. Points are also awarded for consistency of lap times.
The costs will be very much dependent on which class you choose to race in. Class D will be the least expensive – entry fees are around £250 – £300 per race.
Currently serving in the Armed Forces/ a veteran of the armed forces or emergency services.
