Description

Bernie’s Sports Racing & V8s is a series designed for enthusiasts who want old-school racing. The series is open to original, reproduction and replica two-seater sports cars, GT, saloon and muscle cars spanning the golden era of motorsport from the 1950s through to the early 1990s.
The series comprises cars over many ages, models and designs, the now simplified regulations mean grids that features cars such as, Mustangs, Cobras, Crosslés, MGB BCV8s, TVRs, Jaguars and many more.
The rules are simple and old school – Engines must be naturally aspirated, no sequential gearboxes, no traction control, no ABS or carbon brakes and no slicks.

how it works

All cars except historic cars with FIA papers (Class H for pre-1979 Historics) compete in the power-to-weight ratio classes:

  • Class A – 386 to 665bhp per tonne
  • Class B – 311 to 385bhp per tonne
  • Class C – Up to 310bhp per tonne

scoring and points system

Being a non-championship series of races, no points are awarded.

Awards are given at each round: – Overall Winner, 1st in Class, 2nd in Class with 4 starters and 3rd in Class with 6 starters. Cars in the invitation class are not eligible for winner’s laurels or any Class trophies.
