Curborough Sprint Circuit

Description

Curborough Sprint Course is offered as both a competition ground and a testing/ proving facility. It is extremely popular with both Hillclimb and Sprint competitors who’s cars suit the tight and twisty course. The circuit can be set up in a range of configurations as the circuit offers a crossover in the middle of the track. In recent years it has become increasingly popular, with many production companies using this to film shows such as Top Gear and Fifth Gear. There are 3 different configurations, a single lap, a double lap or a figure of 8 (where you cross over the middle of the circuit).

Curborough is located near Lichfield in Staffordshire and events take place most weekends from March through to October. Curborough holds more than 20+ sprints a year and also caters for autotests too. The team behind the track have also created the Curborough Championship which uses all 3 of the track formats and is open to those from road going to top level single seaters. Testing and hire can easily be arranged during the week, with both half and full day slots.

The circuit benefits from being very private and makes a great initial testing ground after drastic car changes or pre-season shake downs. In terms of onsite amenities there is a small cafe called ‘The Rest Sprinters Cafe’ which serves food and drinks on sprint and championship days. Images courtesy of Midland Automobile Club.
