Description

Kames Circuit is owned and managed by East Ayrshire Car Club. The complex was built by members of EACC in the early 1980’s and opened its doors in 1984. The circuit was resurfaced in 2000 after a 3 year project with the help of Lottery funding as well as funds from other motorsport clubs. This is a very popular track with those from the hill climb and sprint community and often used in shake down during the season. One of the great things about Kames is they run club test nights usually on the first Thursday of the month during the summer.

The track is 800m long and 3.5m wide tarmack surface with generous run-off areas. One run is timed as 3 laps from a standing start if running clockwise, or 2.5 laps if used anti-clockwise.

The venue also has a huge 400 car parking capacity, tarmac paddocks, a toilet block and an onsite Cafe. The main car park offers an excellent view of the track from within the parked cars, but spectators are welcome to wander around and have a look at the competing cars during events.

Kames hosts 6 rounds of the Scottish Sprint Championship, as well as the EACC Championships and the Lowlands Championship.

Kames Motorsport Complex includes:

  • a 800m sprint track, which can be run in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions,
  • a network of sealed rally roads,
  • a large sealed paddock which is also used for autotesting.
