Testing venues for both sprint and hill climb racing cars

Both in and out of season it’s all about fettling, improvements and going faster. What better way to quantify your improvements than through testing on track. Splitting them down into three categories, we have selected a few tracks that are perfect for putting your car through its paces. 

Llandow Circuit

Llandow Circuit. A family-owned circuit based in South Wales, just west of Cardiff. The circuit sees many hill climb and sprint drivers bring their cars due to its characteristics. LLandow has a very short lap making it ideal for single or even multiple runs where mimicking a short hill climb course is necessary. It is also makes Llandow an ideal location for shakedown runs. The circuit features a range of both fast a slow corners which make it a great all round testing ground.

Kames Circuit

Kames Circuit. Not for from Cumnock in Scotland is Kames circuit. This tight and technical track is 800m long and 3.5m wide, with generous run-off areas. The circuit can be used for one or more lap runs which makes testing ideal. The tarmac paddock is easily accessible to the circuit which makes fettling all the more appealing. A great venue for testing both sprint and hill climb cars. Test days are usual run on the last Sunday of each month and are open to members. The track is open from 9:30 until 16:00 and costs £35 per driver.

Curborough Circuit

Curborough Circuit. Based in Litchfield, Staffordshire this sprint track offers both competition and testing ground. It’s fast becoming a very popular facility for both hill climb and sprint competitions due to its tight and twisty course. The course can be configured as a figure of 8 or as a sprint circuit, based on your testing requirements. Private hire test days can be booked in during the week, although the Hagley and District Car Club also run members events if you prefer to test with others.

Curborough Sprint Track

Three Sisters Circuit

Three Sisters Circuit. Originally built as a kart track it has now become a popular circuit for those looking for hill climb tracks. Based just south of Wigan this track makes for a great replication of the tight and twisty corners that hill-climbing provides making it that perfect test ground for you and your vehicle. 

Test days are run year-round with single-seaters are welcome. Sessions can have up to 8 cars on track at a time. Early-bird sessions: £85 per hour, 1-hour session: £120, 4-hour session: £384 https://racecollective.com/racevenues/three-sisters-circuit/
