CASTLE COMBE RALLY DAY Race Collective spent an action-packed day at Castle Combe Circuit, soaking up the atmosphere and performance of some seriously impressive machinery
We’re back… well almost.. Earlier today Motorsport UK published a press release announcing that in readiness for motorsport restarting, they are permitting online permit applications from 1st June 2020. Permits are given to Motorsport venues and event organisers to enable them to run competitive events. This is confirmation that Motorsport is finally getting back on track and the sports lockdown is easing.
The official date for British motorsports’ return is the 4th July, however, many track days have already commenced, albeit with a combination of social distancing and lower entry numbers to keep everyone safe. Motorsport UK say they are now looking to implement the next phase in which we will see the sport we love make a return. Further details will be announced after the next Motorsport UK board meeting, set for the 3rd of June 2020.
Clubs and event organisers will still have to adhere to the guidance “Getting Back On Track” released in mid-May which outlines strict procedures and protocols for safe motorsport under the COVID pandemic. The guidance is split into 5 categories which represent the major areas of British Motorsport, Race, Rally, Club Sport, Speed and Karting.

Whilst Wales and other regions are still under a more stringent lockdown, Motorsport in general is still paused and we will wait for both government and the Motorsport UK board guidance to continue.
In general, this is great news and it’s one step closer to a return to normality for the sport, people and for the many businesses reliant on motorsport running in the UK.
