Race Collective spent a day with John Byrne at one of the Caterham Super Seven Championship rounds. John is one of the most humble and talented drivers we’ve had the chance of meeting, he’s a properly nice guy and a very fast driver. As we wandered around the paddock speaking to some of this competitors we got to hear the stories of John’s utter domination over the past two years.

After the pandemic, Johns previous sponsor had to pull out to concentrate energies on commercial aspects for this year so quickly trying to find a sponsor for the season was a challenge. Luckily, John found a new sponsor and the reigning champ was ready to challenge for the title again. We met John at Thruxton and began to capture Johns day and some of his story.

Since filming, John won the Caterham Seven Championship title again, winning all but one race on the calendar which is incredibly impressive! Nice work John.
