SELLING YOUR RACING CAR

Useful tips and tricks to make the most out of advertising online

When it comes to selling your racing car you want it to be easy and effective. However, when listing it for sale there are some key points you should keep in mind to make sure you get the most out of your listing.

We have put together a couple of key points you should know when it comes to selling your race car.

Advertising you car

Firsts things first advertising your car. To get your car noticed you need to advertise it. Sounds simple but the key to a good sale is to get the advertising right.

We, at Race Collective, look after the advertising for you and make sure your car is being seen by the right people. With our listing process, we provide a quick and easy process for you to find the best buyer for your car. We have members who are frequent purchasers of a variety of cars and we are always working hard to attract new parties to our site.

Photography

Good quality photos are essential when selling your racing car. Grainy, unclear, or out of focus pictures won’t cut it when attracting the right buyer. Professionally shot track side pictures without the copyright are preferred but if you can’t get hold of any we’ve given you a few tips. Use a good quality digital camera, clean the car up and think about the lighting. You want to show off your car at its best.

Taking photos outside often provides great natural lighting so, if you can, take your car outside for photos. Often a little cloud cover or morning or late afternoon sun works well, try to avoid the bright midday sun or direct light as this can cause glare on the paintwork. Be aware of reflections too, make sure you or other objects are not reflecting in the windows or paintwork.

Getting low really gives cars impact, take a look in any racing magazine and you’ll find this angle in the majority of photos.

Make sure you get every angle, front, rear, sides, cockpit and engine plus any model number plates or outstanding features you want to highlight.

Describing your car

Make sure you describe all the features. You want to give potential buyers a clear descriptive picture of what they are looking at. Mention key attributes, what makes this car distinctive. Detail any modifications, repairs or rebuilds and give an idea of the wear and tear, what condition the car is in and any racing pedigree.

Sell it, be positive and informative, although it is vital you mention any issues don’t dwell on them and keep it positive.

Technicalities & extra details

The best way to get your car noticed and give yourself that extra chance of being found is by adding car feature tags. When listing the car on our website, you can allocate features such as traction control, dry sump, data logger and more. These feature tags allow your car to appear within the search filters on our listings page, so if someone is looking for something specific they can find it by refining the filters in their search to list only those with the features they require.

If you keep these points in mind and you will be sure to have a great listing when you come to sell your car.
